Emily Allen
- Founder and Director
Dublin born and brought up in bilingual home, during her Transition Year, Emily fell madly in love... with Spain! Her passion about the country, its culture and traditions changed the course of her life.
On completing her Honors Degree in Spanish and Irish Language & Cultural Studies in UCC, she moved to Spain where she has worked in education, tourism and event management:
- Founder and former director of a successful language academy in the centre of Madrid (www.emilysenglishroom.com)
- Founder and director of Madrid Tapas Trail & Tour (www.madridtapastrail.com). Gastronomic events, touristic activities and personalized tours for families, group celebrations and corporate events. Awarded Tripadvisor certificate of Excellence 2014, 2015, 2016 and Luxury Travel Guide award for Excellence 2016 and 2017.
- Organizer of Bilingual events and President of the Bilingual Association of Monachil
- Official examiner for various international exam boards
Upon moving to Granada in 2019, she founded Transition Spain; an initiative to inspire students, opening their eyes to new horizons.
Mary Britton
- Coordinator
Mary Britton, Irish-born and living in Granada for over 7 years, has an Honours degrees in English and Philosophy and also a Diploma in Youth & Community work.
For 5 years she worked with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, co-ordinating the National Helpline Service and a team of 30 volunteers providing information and emotional support to people with dementia and their families.
Since 2011, she has been based in Granada working as a teacher and coordinator in language academies. Mary is vice-president of the local Bilingual Association and is also a full-time mother to her own children.
She is delighted to be the official 'Irish Mammy' on this side of the ocean!
